From plate to garden: Tour a compost facility on Saturday, May 19th

Ever wondered how the food scraps and paper towels you place in your organics recycling cart turn into compost? Minneapolis Solid Waste & Recycling has organized a bus tour to bring residents down to the compost site on Saturday May 19, 2018. Participants will get a detailed explanation of the composting process from start to finish and see the equipment needed to compost your organics. Bus transportation will be provided from Folwell Park and Powderhorn Park to the compost site in Rosemount, MN. You’ll learn how the Minneapolis organics program is going on the way down to the facility.
There is no cost to attend. All participants must be 10 years or older. The tour is limited to the first 45 residents that register for tour.
