Most Epic Family Day hosted Sunday at Target Field Station

This year’s Most Epic Family Day will feature water-themed activities for kids, an outdoor showing of “Moana” with a character meet and greet, and more.

Go Outside with Hennepin County and the Minneapolis Downtown Council are hosting the event, free and open to people of all ages and abilities.


  • Sunday, August 13, noon – 4 p.m.
  • Featuring 1:30 p.m. “Moana” movie showing


  • Target Field Station, 335 North Fifth Street, Minneapolis

Free activities for all

This year’s event theme is “a lake-like day in the city.” Event activities include:

  • An outdoor showing of “Moana” with character meet and greet
  • Waterslide, slip and slide and lily pad leap
  • Arts and crafts
  • Lawn games
  • Face painting and glitter hair
  • Balloon artist
  • Mini golf
  • Hennepin County Library: story time and library cards
  • Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge: bubble making and storm drain outreach materials to relay the message of keeping our water clean

Getting there

  • Parking is available in Target Field Station ramp and on the street.
  • Target Field Station is serviced by METRO Blue and Green lines, bus routes and the North Star Commuter Rail. Learn more.
